The Old Gymnasium was built in 1878 and torn down in 1957. It was built under Dr. Coit’s rectorship. It was built over Lower School Pond near where Ohrstrom Library is today. At the time, the main sports at SPS were track, cricket, football, crew, and gymnastics.
